Performance class (in‑person)

Do you love playing the flute but get nervous performing in front of other people?

This class is an opportunity to play a short piece or excerpt in front of a welcoming, supportive group of peers and make performing feel second nature!

Performer tickets are limited to 5 per class!

Performers: Please prepare any short piece or excerpt (5 minutes or less) to play for the group. While all genres are welcome, you may find you get the most out of classical repertoire of any time period (Baroque, contemporary, etc).

🎼 What to Expect:

🚀 Elevate Your Performance: It’s your time to shine! Take centre stage and perform a short piece or excerpt (up to 5 minutes) in front of a group of supportive and welcoming peers. We’ll also cover various performance tricks and tips to help you refine your skills and boost your confidence.

🤝 Supportive Community: In this warm, welcoming, and supportive atmosphere, you’ll find camaraderie, encouragement, and a room full of people eager to cheer you on every step of the way. Whether you’re a seasoned performer or stepping onto the stage for the first time, we’re here to celebrate your journey.

💃 No Pressure Zone: I understand that performing can be daunting. That’s why participation is encouraged, but never mandatory. You’re welcome to attend as an enthusiastic member of the audience, soaking in the magic and supporting your fellow musicians.

🌟 Creating a Safe Space: My commitment to creating a safe, respectful atmosphere is very important. Participants are expected to contribute positively to this supportive environment. Those who do not show their fellow performers and flute friends the upmost respect may be barred from future classes.

*Prices are per class
**If planning on attending as a walk-in, please check back on the day as some may be cancelled due to low registration

The Flute Nerd choir

This is an informal flute choir play day. It is a friendly and supportive group and it encourages players from every level to join.

As this is a new ensemble, we’re going to spend our first term just goofing around with some fun, inclusive music. The music we play is dependant on the players who show up as we’ll try to be as accommodating as possible. Please drop me a line asap if there is any music in particular you’d like to try out with the group!

Players with access to piccolos, alto or bass flutes are super welcome!!
