Flute lessons

for everyone!

Putting the ‘play’ back into playing the flute!

Music is fun. And making music on the flute is even better. As a London-based flute tutor with over 19 years of professional and performance experience, I can teach students the skills they need to play music.

The key word there is ‘play’. Music making is creative, and creativity is just a mode of play. That’s why I’ve worked hard to ensure that my lessons are fun and engaging, whether my students are young or just the young at heart.

Who do I teach?

Adults

30, 60 mins | online & in-person

Always wanted to learn the flute? Or want to pick it back up after some time away? It’s never too late! I love working with adult students to help them learn new skills and unlock their creativity. My method is holistic, encouraging not only the development of technique but a deeper understanding of music, because I believe that music matters and learning it leads to a greater appreciation of our world well beyond the realm of clefs and scales.

These lessons are perfect for ages 3 to 5 years. As a #littleflutes expert and member of FlutePlay, I use the easy-to-play Nuvo TooT, games and activities as a fun, enjoyable way for early childhood students to get started in music and learn flute basics before graduating to the big kid flute. Blocks of lessons include all your child needs to get started: an instrument, method book pdf, and lots of fun, colourful goodies to help make learning fun!

My teaching philosophy

My Teaching Philosophy

I believe we learn faster when we’re having fun, so I have carefully crafted a studio culture that knows that every student is capable of great things when they enjoy what they’re learning. The more students enjoy their lessons, the more likely they are to engage with the topics and practice in their own time. I tailor my lessons to each individual student, making sure that they get the most out of their lessons and meet their personal goals, while at the same time fostering a sense of play and creativity.

Creative play has countless benefits: it motivates us, tests our creative limits, fosters curiosity, boosts our mood, encourages us to try new things, cultivates our imagination and teaches us to trust ourselves. It’s a bit of a no-brainer, eh? Show more
