Scheduling

  • Students may book ad hoc lessons by subscribing to a monthly plan that will allow them to book up to 1, 2 or 4 lessons each calendar month.
  • Lessons can be booked up to 40 days in advance, but each lesson will count toward the calendar month in which it is scheduled.
  • Lesson slots are first‑come, first‑served – I highly recommend booking your lessons as early in the month as possible. Once popular times fill up, I can’t always guarantee late‑month availability.
  • Unused lessons will not carry over to the next month! Exception: students on the 4-lesson plan may carry over a maximum of 1 lesson to the following month.

Tuition & Subscription

  • Your monthly fee for each calendar month will be taken on the 24th of the month before.
  • The credit will be automatically added to your account by the 26th of the month before and can be used to book available lessons via the Student Portal calendar. See the instructional video below. It’s super easy!
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time. However, please note all payments are non-refundable. If a payment has already been made for the current subscription period, no refund will be issued. To cancel, please email me: alex@theflutenerd.com
  • Your subscription includes:
  • Up to 1, 2 or 4 lessons a month depending on your plan
  • A bespoke lesson plan to help you reach your goals
  • Access to the Student Portal where you can check notes, view invoices, book/cancel/reschedule  lessons, download pdfs and resources, and log into Zoom
  • Resources and handouts like a Scale Info Sheet and scale games
  • Access to annual studio recitals
  • A monthly studio newsletter packed full of practice tips and inspiration
  • Priority discount booking on any masterclasses, workshops or flute choir events
  • Assistance in purchasing new instruments
  • Tuition does not include sheet music or instrument rental fee

Attendance & Cancelation

  • If lessons are cancelled or reschedules with at least 24-hour notice the credit will be added back onto your account. With less than 24 hours' notice, the credit is unfortunately forfeit.
  • It is the student’s responsibility to attend lessons at their scheduled time. Missed lessons will be forfeit and not credited back.
  • Lessons are reserved for specific time slots regardless of when the student shows up. For example, if the lesson is scheduled for 1pm-2pm and a student doesn't show up until 1:15pm, the lesson will still finish at 2pm and the full fee charged.
  • Holiday: For those on the 4-lesson subscription, your account will be credited appropriately for every week I am on holiday that month. If you know you will be away, please contact me as soon as possible to update your subscription for that month.
  • Illness: If I cancel a lesson due to illness and you are unable to find a makeup time that works for you, I will credit your next month's subscription.
